野球という公平であるゲームは決して現実の社会では公平ではない（金のあるチームが勝つ）世界を描いている。

金のある球団がいい選手を取り、勝っていく。

そんな中で自分を貫き通した一人の人物の話である。

若いころ、上手く生きることの出来なかった一人の人物が世界を変えた物語である。

この映画は野球映画ではない。
既得権益者の支配する世界を変えていく一人の人物の物語である。
何も持たないで、世界を変えることの困難さと勇気を与えてくれる。

ビジネスの世界も同じである。
私達は公平なビジネスのルールの中で競っていると思っているがそれは偽りである。
そしてそんな世界の中で戦うことを諦めない勇気が必要だ。

ラストで娘が彼に歌をプレゼントするシーンでは涙が止まらない。
彼はまだ戦い続けているのだ。

迷いながら、信念を貫き通している姿は僕に勇気を与えてくれる。
「人生は金じゃない」と言い切ることは難しいが、「金じゃない物を目的とする人生」を彼は若い頃の愚かさから学んだのだ。
素晴らしい。

人生に迷うのは子どもの特権ではない。
